Change In The Weather

Hi Natural Health Family! I imagine everyone had a good weekend. As you might have seen, we are heading more into the fall season here and that brings change. Especially this year with events coming up that can spark more changes. It appears that a shift is happening in the health industry and people are starting to wake up to the fact that for our country and world to move forward with the way we think about health. With the rates of illnesses and other health related issues climbing more and more, it’s important to address the core principles of health so we can understand why we got here in the first place.

When talking about the health industry we can first go back to how modern western medicine came to be. In the mid to late 1800s we still used many traditional practices including what we call “alternative” healthcare. This was using natural forms of different herbs and diets to help a person heal along with other modalities. Not until the 1900s did the birth of what we call the pharmaceutical industry which was the use of medicine created from petroleum based substances used in western medicine. This was due to the influence of major oil company leaders like John D Rockefeller. If you don’t know much about him you can do your own research. Nonetheless, this was the big change when it comes to why we are where we are in our health as a country. Instead of respecting the intelligence of our body and the natural means and methods of health, we went on toe rely on a completely different system that came from the premise that our bodies were in a sense “broken” or that our genes were bad enough that we needed these chemicals in the form of drugs, that were previously used to make plastics, to get us back to health. Now of course some of the medicines can be helpful in emergency situations, but in many cases they are overly prescribed. Until we can see the facts of the issues of our health, the reasons how we got there, and the ability to redirect to a new way of health are we able to prepare future generations so that we can grow as a nation.

Our health as it allows us to live and enjoy the life we live. We are living in a time where the information is all around us, and it is up to us to have the ability to discern how to help ourselves and others. It’s not that we have to judge what was but to redirect our energy and allow what is possible for all of us to live healthy and happy. Thanks for reading and have a great week!
