Changes

Good morning or evening Natural Health Family. I imagine health and healing for everyone. We have been talking about weight loss and the different ways and methods. Weight loss is always a hot topic it seems when it gets to this time of the year. If we think of years back it didn’t seem like it was such a difficult thing to achieve. Mainstream media seems to always have the wonder drug or the next best fix but it doesn’t have to be so complicated. Everyone is different with his or her body types and builds. However, we don’t necessarily focus on losing the weight but getting back to health which allows the weight to normalize.

Do you remember when we were told just to eat the egg whites for health? Then just to eat the egg yolks? Or that fat is bad and it is the reason why people gain weight? Or that salt is bad and that we should stay away from it? What do you hear now? It appears that the advice of the mainstream has swung and shifted so much that it is difficult to tell if they really know what is good or bad. Now, of course, we may learn things from experience but that is why we need to question the common narratives and paradigms to really see if what we are being told is actually helpful. When looking at the rates of chronic illnesses, obesity, etc. we can see clearly that we have been told the wrong information in some way or fashion. It seems that we look for answers from modern advice and information, but we fail to seek out the wisdom of what our ancestors knew who not only lived longer but also lived life more full. They also didn’t think much of having to lose weight but rather lived a life that kept them healthy.

Weight loss can seem complex with all the information out there but the guidelines that are in the mainstream media are not working.  In order to change we must be equipped with different knowledge and empower ourselves to be able to be the change. It might take some time but with patience we can help transform the health of ourselves by leading by example which can help others see a new way.

Have a great week!
