Debunking the Cholesterol Myth

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-

Another great weekend and it was so nice to get some rain.  As you may have noticed on earlier letters, I like green grass and it was getting pretty brown out there.  I noticed yesterday that after the rains, the grass is starting to green up again and it looks so much better.  Also, the rain helped get some of that dust out of the air and some of the pollen out of the air, that the farmers are stirring up with harvest.  We did notice patients complaining more about joint pain, though, because of the low barometric pressure which shows up the weak spots because of the increased inflammation in that area.  We have great nutritional products to help with joint problems and Chiropractically adjusting these areas also helps with realigning the joint and getting them to work correctly.  This may be the end of our hot weather too, but I hope it doesn’t get too cold too fast.

We just had our Patient Appreciation Barbecue last Friday and a good time was had by all.  It was a little warm that day and the farmers were in the field but we still had a good turnout and just want everyone to know how much we appreciate their patronage here at Natural Health.  Dr. Chip did the barbecuing and the staff was here to help everyone enjoy the afternoon so all in all, it was a great event.  Thanks again everyone for being our patients and special thanks for those who attended the barbecue.

The article than sending along today is one of those that really puts a burr under my saddle.  This cholesterol myth, that has been going on for decades now, has really caused lots of health problems with people because they’re not looking for the underlying cause of problems, just covering up a symptom or managing a number with drugs.  Cholesterol is very important to the body and is used for many different functions, especially with healing and nerve sheathing.  By using a statin drug to force the liver not to make cholesterol, just to keep a blood work number under a certain threshold, and not discovering the underlying reason why it is high, is in my opinion, one of the reasons we’re seeing so much of an increase and Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients, and treatment centers.  Of course, it makes lots of people lots of money by keeping people sick and not finding an underlying cause, but this is one of the reasons why America spends the most money on Health Care and has the worst health outcomes of any industrialized nation in the world.  When is mainstream medicine going to look at the reasons why people are so sick and there is so much degenerative disease in patients?  At Natural Health, this is what we do every day, looking for the underlying causes of problems and educating patients, and empowering patients, to work towards true natural health, not just managing disease or numbers.  And the insurance companies are just as much to blame when all they pay for is disease management and nothing about prevention or actual health.  Again-it’s a money game but people are suffering and dying.
