Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation –
Are we headed toward Spring? Not in January surely. We’ve had a good amount of cold already but I’m sure that there is more to come. We’ve noticed a lot of people being sick with colds and flu and this is normal after the holidays with all the bad eating choices, the stress of visiting relatives – ha, and even the cold weather and driving conditions. We find that most of my patients who are following the program, do not get sick, or have very minor symptoms, even if the rest of the family gets it. Again, it’s not the bugs showing up only this time of year, but the suppression of the immune system from whatever reason. Another reason is lack of vitamin D from no sunshine, why we recommend suntan beds once a week during the winter. We’ve been brainwashed into believing it’s only the bugs and there’s nothing you can do about it but that is not true. You can get the immune system stronger through a good diet and whole food supplements, we prove it all the time here at Natural Health.
The article that I’m sending along today looks at Chocolate and if it’s good or bad. Of course, the cocoa is good for you but the refined sugar is not. Many foods are like that but it’s hard to know what the story is. We do a lot of educating of our patients here at Natural Health, to know the rules for good health, not the marketing from big food. Another thing that we’ve been brainwashed into accepting is that just because we have insurance, we’ll be healthy. This is not true either because most insurances only pay for sick care, not actual true “Health Care”. It’s sold to the public like that but our “Healthcare System” is really more about disease management.
Please don’t get me wrong, mainstream medicine does a great job on emergency calls and trauma care, what they’ve learned from wars, but they do not work towards actual true “Health”, just symptom relief. And that’s fine too, just don’t call it health care. Something simple as high blood pressure being treated by medication to lower the number is not health care, its disease management, because as soon as you stop the medication, the problem is right back, if it even was helped. And at what cost to the body with all the unwanted “side” effects. At Natural Health, we look at the underlying causes and help the body to help itself be healthy, as it has been able to do for millennia, way before medication or drugs were even thought about.
