Why Vitamin C Complex Matters for Modern Health

Hello Everyone in Natural Health Nation-

What a beautiful weekend and I hope you were able to enjoy it.  Yes, it’s gotten a little cooler but it’s not really cold yet.  The trees are so pretty with all the different colors and I hope they last a long time.  It hasn’t really froze hard yet so the oak trees are not letting go of their leaves much.  That time will come for sure.  I think that due to the weather change, the time change, and vaccinating for flu and the like-due to the shedding, were seeing a lot of sickness around.  Part of that can also be coming from the Halloween candy that has hurt people’s immune system.

And speaking of vitamin C complex, the article that I’m sending along is looking at a return of the symptom called Scurvy.  This is a condition that was thought to have been eradicated centuries ago but because no one pays attention to good nutrition, and the need for vitamin C complex, not just ascorbic acid that the FDA allows to be called vitamin C, we’re seeing a resurgence of this problem.  The article  looks at this condition called Scurvy and what it’s about.  Basically, any kind of bleeding problem can have its roots in a lack of vitamin C complex.  When you see a person who is on blood thinners (aka rat poison) and they have big bruises on their arms, that is what Scurvy can look like.

If you know your history of English Sailors, you will remember that they were called “limeys” because they ate limes to get natural vitamin C complex and that kept them from the later stages of the condition Scurvy.  Knowing this helped the English to remain a dominant sea power because the other countries didn’t know that and their sailors got sick.  It’s all very interesting and important to realize that such a simple thing as a lack of vitamin C complex can cause so many symptoms, which are lumped together into this term called Scurvy.  At Natural Health, we strive to get patients to eat in a variety of foods that contain vitamin C complex, and all the other vitamins and minerals they need, and if that’s not possible, we have the whole food supplements and herbals that are necessary for good health.
